We’ve all had unhealthy imaginary relationships with our celebrity crush. That little fantasy is a fun distraction, even if we understand it’ll never happen. So what would you do if your daydreams became your reality? Here are some people who got to live the dream.

1 – Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman

The couple met at the Palm Springs Film Festival in 2008. Despite her then-recent split from Raffaello Follieri, Anne showed great interest in getting to know Shulman. He is more known as a jewelry designer that an actor.

Initially, someone told Hathaway that Shulman had a girlfriend, so she backed off. She later came to find out that it wasn’t true and asked him to accompany her to the screening of Rachel Getting Married. He accepted, and the rest is history.

2 – George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin

George Clooney and Amal, a renowned human rights lawyer, were introduced by a mutual friend over dinner. They had an instant connection and kept communicating via email. After a few months, they met for their first date and started vacationing together. George popped the question less than a year after the lovebirds met.

3 – Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder

The two met through Harry Styles, who was Eleanor’s friend. No ‘normal’ person has Harry Styles as a friend, but they connected when he worked at a bakery. When Harry met his friend, Eleanor came, and it was a match. The couple has had an on-and-off relationship, and it’s still unclear if they are together.

4 – Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth

Shortly after calling it quits with Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese Witherspoon met Jim at a party. He came to rescue her from a man who was making a massive idiot of himself while hitting on her.

The two dated quietly for months and went public on her birthday in Ojai. Unfortunately, after marking ten years as a married couple on March 26, 2021, Reese Witherspoon recently announced that they are getting a divorce.

5 – Adele and Simon Konecki

Soon after the release of her 21 album in 2011, Adele met her now ex-husband, Simon Konecki. He was a much-welcome break from the Hollywood glitz and drama; Simon was a charity CEO and former banker. Details of their meeting are still hazy, but they made it official in 2012. The two split in 2019 and finalized their divorce. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Adele said she was unhappy.

6 – Prince William and Kate Middleton

The lovebirds were students at St. Andrews University, where they met and built a strong friendship. Prince William says he knew there was something special about Kate Middleton when he met her. They took a break for self-discovery after graduating but reunited in the summer of 2007.

Christina Aguilera, who loves to keep her life private, met Matt Rutler while filming Burlesque. He worked as a set assistant, and the two hit it off immediately. She filed for divorce the following year from her then-husband, Jordan Bratman. After dating for several years, they welcomed their first child and later got engaged in 2014.

8 – Aaron Paul and Lauren Parsekian

9 – Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe
