Speaking of crime flops, is there a movie that was more panned than Gigli? Despite its incredible cast, headlined by Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez (who were dating at the time), Gigli is one of the most expensive box-office bombs in movie history.
A Wrinkle In Time
The movie adaptation of the famed 1962 young adult novel was finally released in 2018, but it was not worth the wait. Like many film adaptations, there was a loss in translation of what made the book so great.
Dragonball Evolution
Dragonball Z is one of the most well-received anime series of all time. Naturally, a film adaptation was made, with Dragonball Evolution released in 2009. It was a failure in every possible metric, but fear not, Dragon Ball fans; the franchise is in good hands with creator Akira Toriyama returning to the material in 2012.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Speaking of bad anime adaptations, not only is The Last Airbender one of the worst movies ever made, but it’s also one of M. Night Shyamalan‘s worst films too. Netflix is currently working on a series based on the source material; here’s to hoping that fares out better than this film.
Mean Girls 2
The original Mean Girls is a comedy classic that perfectly encapsulates life as a modern teenage girl in High School. The sequel is a blatant attempt to cash in on the original’s success.
Cats
One of the most beloved musicals of all time is also one of the biggest theatrical flops in movie history. Despite the massive star power of the cast, many people were turned off by the horrific visual style of Cats.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey
When the Winnie the Pooh character entered the Public Domain, the property was free game for anyone to adapt. One of the first results is this 2023 British slasher film that received a lot of hype online. Sadly, the film was a total mess and a waste of time.
Holmes & Watson
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are a talented comedic duo capable of performing at the highest level. However, you wouldn’t know this by watching Holmes & Watson. The Sherlock Holmes comedy misses the mark in every possible manner. You’re better off watching the Guy Ritchie movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
Jaws: The Revenge
The first Jaws is a timeless classic and masterful work by the cast and director Stephen Speilberg. Thanks to the success of the film, several sequels were released. There are some stinkers among them, but Jaws: The Revenge may be the worst of them all.
Mac And Me
Chances are that you know this film from the running gag by Paul Rudd every time he appears on Conan O’Brien’s show. Instead of showing a clip from an upcoming movie he stars in, a clip from Mac And Me plays.
Unfortunately, the film is nowhere near as funny or enjoyable as the gag.

Based on the wildly popular novel, Fifty Shades of Grey took the world by storm in the 2010s. The first film was released in 2015 and made over $500 million. Many moviegoers, however, criticized every aspect of the film, including the acting and the story.

The less said about this film, the better. Seriously, please don’t watch it. Look it up on Wikipedia if you dare, but don’t say we didn’t warn you. This movie should have never been made.
