Alan Wake Remastered developer Remedy Entertainment published an anniversary update for the franchise on YouTube. In it, they announce a Nintendo Switch version and the long-awaited Alan Wake TV series coming to AMC.

Alan Wake Remastered was released on October 4th, 2021, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. There is no planned release date for the Nintendo Switch version. The video showcases indirect gameplay footage that may or may not be staged.

The Switch version will be digital-only, and more information is coming in the coming months.

Information regarding Alan Wake 2, first announced last year, was also teased. Sam Lake called developing the game both familiar and fresh. Lake said it feels like they’re breaking new ground, creating a new genre, and pushing further into the horror aspect. Matthew Porretta mentioned that the sequel shows us who Alan Wake is. We see more emotion and character in Alan himself.

While development is going well and a “great deal” of the game is in a playable state, no new footage for the anticipated sequel is coming this summer.

The full video is worth the watch for discussion regarding the present and future of the franchise.
