Earlier this week, it was announced that Amy Hennig was again attached to a Star Wars project. Skydance New Media and Lucasfilm Games are working together to create a “narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story in the Star Wars galaxy.”

Dual Shockers is reporting that according to a source, the Amy Hennig Star Wars project may be a revival of Project Ragtag. Project Ragtag was an untitled action-adventure Star Wars title in which Hennig acted as the creative lead. The studio behind the project was Visceral Games. Electric Arts served as a publisher. Of note, Ragtag is not the old Star Wars 1313 project; that was developed internally by LucasArts before their closing.

After a troubled development cycle, Project Ragtag was officially canceled in 2019, two years after Visceral was shut down and a year after Hennig left EA. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, another EA title developed by Respawn Entertainment, is a separate project.

It’s important to note that Dual Shocker’s source doesn’t confirm whether or not the new Amy Hennig title is a Project Ragtag revival. They mention it takes place in the same era (Rebel Alliance Classic Erc) and is “maybe some sort of revival.”

For those unaware, AccountNgt is the same source that correctly leaked Star Wars Eclipse before its official reveal.

Regarding her role in this new Star Wars title, Amy Hennig said: “I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly. I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

Formed in 2019, Skydance New Media now has two games under Hennig’s watch. The second is a narrative-driven title in the Marvel universe. The company is openly hiring positions for both teams.

Douglas Reilly, vice president for Lucasfilm Games, is happy to be working with Hennig once again. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working again with Amy. She and the Skydance New Media team have the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure. Their vision for making narrative driven and engaging interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. We’re working hard with their team of experienced and talented developers, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with Star Wars fans when the time is right.”
