The DLC introduces a bunch of interesting content to the game, but what most players are really excited about is the 2.0 update. Among other things, the update adds a bunch of new crops that can be planted and harvested for cooking ingredients. Keep reading to learn more about the latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons crops and vegetables.
How to Get Crops and Grow Vegetables in AC: New Horizons
As of update 2.0, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can farm six types of produce. These vegetables include potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, sugarcane, wheat, and pumpkins. Pumpkins have been in the game for some time, but the other five types of crops are all new.
Before you can start farming crops New Horizons, you first need to get your hands on some seeds. These can be purchased from Leif’s stall, which can be found either inside Harvey’s Shopping Plaza or in front of the Resident Services town hall. Leif sells each type of seed for 280 Bells a pop. On occasion, you can also find crop seeds while exploring mysterious islands.
Once you have the seeds, grab a shovel and dig a hole in an empty plot of land. Next, open your inventory and select the crops you want to plant. Animal Crossing: New Horizons crops grow to maturity over the course of four days, and it’s important to water them every single day if you want them to produce the maximum number of vegetables. The crops grow even if you don’t water them daily, but won’t yield as much produce come harvesting season.
After four days you can start harvesting your crops and use them for crafting or cooking. Alternatively, you can take your vegetables to Nook’s Cranny and sell them for a tidy profit.
