How to Move Trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In order to move trees, you must interact with a tree that is able to bear fruit. Eat one of the fruit that the tree drops in order to gain a buff. While under the effects of the fruit-eating buff, you’ll be able to dig up a whole tree with your shovel and put it in your pocket. Then, you can move this tree anywhere you’d like by digging a hole and planting the tree in it.

Alternatively, you can move a young tree without needing a Fruit buff by simply digging it with your shovel. A young tree is smaller than a fully-grown one. It will also be able to be dug with a shovel, rather than just ignoring the shovel and deflecting it.

You can move any tree while you’re under the strength buff from eating a fruit. While you might only have access to specific trees to start, you’ll be able to move any tree you like once you can travel and purchase new saplings. This process makes things a lot easier if your tree is not natural to the environment your character lives in. And it can be hard to cut down a tree that’s as much of a neighbor as the animals around you.

Especially when it doesn’t have much monetary value at all.

Want to do more than just dig up trees with fruit super-strength in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? We’ve got your back!
