Bandai Namco Delays Blue Protocol to Next Year

The bigger a game is, the more likely it is going to keep returning to development, and MMOs are some of the biggest games out there. Bandai Namco is attempting to launch a brand new one called Blue Protoco,l but it looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer. The anime-style MMORPG has been pushed to sometime next year as development and testing continue. However, it looks like the game will be offering access to a beta session later this year, so at least people will get an idea of what to expect when it finally does launch.

Blue Protocol Delay and Beta

Blue Protocol 2022 Announce Trailer

Blue Protocol was first announced in 2019, and an update announcement trailer was released recently at the end of 2022. Since then, the game has been receiving praise and attention, with many excited for its release. Still, despite all the waiting that’s already been done, people will need to wait until at least 2024 for the full launch of Blue Protocol.

According to PC Gamer, the Japan release is still scheduled to happen later this year along with a global closed beta. The exact date of either has not been revealed, but it’s likely that the beta will fill up quickly.

Blue Protocol is another in the lineup of colorful 3D anime-style MMORPGs to join the online gaming market. With Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact still raking in the numbers, especially with the recent release of Star Rail, Bandai Namco is getting in at a high point in this trend. The story of Blue Protocol seems to be a personal one revolving around the player character. They’ll be adventuring to uncover their origins in a sci-fi setting on the planet of Regnas. The video clips showcase party-based free-form combat against large enemies using a variety of weapons and character abilities to win in the most spectacular way possible.

Bandai Namco has been building Blue Protocol for quite some time and needs a little more time for countries outside Japan. Players can hold out for a spot on the closed beta later this year as they wait for the full release in 2024.
