Bethesda Delays Starfield And Redfall Until 2023

Creating a game is one of the most demanding and difficult tasks out there, even if you have the power of a company like Bethesda. This publisher has lent its name to some of the most popular games of all time, with Redfall and Starfield aiming to become two more. Unfortunately, these titles will not be available this year, according to a recent tweet by Bethesda.

Waiting For The Starfield To Redfall

Sadly, it seems Redfall and Starfield simply aren’t ready to release this year. Bethesda says it needs more time in order to properly deliver the games they’ve promised in top quality. It’s apparently been challenging even with separate teams, as Arkane Austin focuses on Redfall while Bethesda Game Studios builds Starfield.

Both games were first announced at E3 2021. And though both are Bethesda games, they’re vastly different in terms of gameplay and theme. Redfall in particular appears to take some inspiration from Valve’s Left 4 Dead series. On the other hand, with a name like Starfield, Bethesda’s newest exploration into sci-fi territory is obvious. What little we’ve seen of the game showcases astronauts as they prepare to launch themselves into space.

Though both these titles are impressive in their own rights, Bethesda has a certain reputation for quality. The studio is responsible for the prolific series of both The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, with games getting more detailed and complex with time. Naturally, this gradual evolution has introduced a few technical issues. By now, there are countless videos dedicated to showcasing bugs encountered in games such as Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

With the recent announcement, Bethesda is playing it safe. With luck, the final product will have fewer bugs for players to hunt. It’s taking the development of Redfall and Starfield seriously by giving their respective teams until 2023 to fix them up.
