Biomutant Trailer Highlights Cross-Platform Accessibility

Biomutant cross platform

New Biomutant gameplay footage highlights the game’s cross-platform capabilities, with separate trailers that show off the game on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. They give a glimpse at combat and traversal, while also showing the game’s graphical capabilities on these platforms.

Developed by Experiment 101, Biomutant is set in a world torn apart by natural disasters. The player has to restore the five roots of the Tree of Life to restore order to the world. A branching ally system means players can side with groups aiming to save the Tree — or those trying to destroy it.  Player customization is a huge focus, with everything from robotic legs and mutations available to change. It promises varied gameplay and a unique setting, labeled a “post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable.”

The PC footage runs at an impressive 4K and 60 frames per second and showcases the player approaching Hopehall, an abandoned place of worship ravaged by guerrillas after the natural disasters. Here, the gameplay highlights the melee combat mechanics, with weapons such as revolvers and knuckle dusters available to use. A key feature is the game’s physics, with grass dynamically reacting to the player’s movement and the propulsion of enemies.

In addition to cross-platform play, Biomutant is also enhanced for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. On these platforms, it runs at native 1080p, with a consistent 60 frames per second. This footage also focuses on getting into Hopehall, though the archery-based combat of this protagonist keeps gameplay fresh. Lastly, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One footage shows the game running at 1080p and 30fps. It ensures Biomutant will be accessible to all players, regardless of their platform.

Equally, Biomutant will run as expected on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. After a series of delays, the Biomutant has a confirmed May 25, 2021 release date, which means it really won’t be long until players can experience this varied and colorful world.
