Developed by Experiment 101, Biomutant is set in a world torn apart by natural disasters. The player has to restore the five roots of the Tree of Life to restore order to the world. A branching ally system means players can side with groups aiming to save the Tree — or those trying to destroy it. Player customization is a huge focus, with everything from robotic legs and mutations available to change. It promises varied gameplay and a unique setting, labeled a “post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable.”
The PC footage runs at an impressive 4K and 60 frames per second and showcases the player approaching Hopehall, an abandoned place of worship ravaged by guerrillas after the natural disasters. Here, the gameplay highlights the melee combat mechanics, with weapons such as revolvers and knuckle dusters available to use.
