Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night hasn’t disappointed players with its many craftable and upgradeable items. From food and potions to weapons and new armor, the popular Metroidvania title has an almost dizzying number of resourceful items for players to collect. It’s understandable that some confusion might arise in how to craft the vast array of items. For instance, how can players craft the Bloodbringer Sword?
In such a unique fashion, the Bloodbringer comes in both the Familiar and weapon forms. Evidently, you’ll need to progress through the Hellhold in order to make yourself a Bloodbringer Sword. The question is, how exactly does it work once you obtain the resource in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night? It’s time to play with some luck as we make our way through the nightmarish castle.
How to Get the Bloodbringer Sword
Players locate the Bloodbringer Sword by taking down a Bloodbringer enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. This sharp foe is distinguished by its flying ability and the mere appearance of a living sword; it even utters some grunts as it makes its way to Miriam during combat. You can find the Bloodbringers by progressing through the Entrance to Gebel’s Castle, Dian Cecht Cathedral, and Hall of Termination, where other enemies lurk behind the castle walls.
Specifically, players need to look out for specific item drops called the Sword Fragment and the Bloodbringer Familiar Shard. The sword itself will be a part of the package upon defeating a Bloodbringer. However, its drop rate is set at 4%, while the Sword Fragment itself is at 5%. You’ll have to spam enter and exit the rooms where the Bloodbringers are to ensure a guaranteed drop. This might take a while, but you’ll also have a chance to level up while you’re out searching for the flying enemy in question.
It should be mentioned that other enemies will be in the rooms where the Bloodbringers reside. Be prepared for tedious fights as you enter and exit rooms with the hope of getting the Bloodbringer Sword for Miriam.
Additionally, a fallen Bloodbringer also has a chance of producing Silver with a drop rate of 8%. This material is used for several recipes that help generate silver-related armor. Furthermore. it’s used to enhance the following Shards:
- Alchemic Bounty
- Familiar: Silver Knight
- Jackpot
- Tis Raff
- Tis Rozain
The Entrance to Gebel’s Castle is encountered throughout the beginning stages of the game. Their HP is relatively low compared to some of the other enemies in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night; they’re easier to deal with if you study its basic attacks and swings.
How to Enhance the Bloodbringer Familiar with Johannes
It may take players a little while to find all the item drops needed for the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Bloodbringer Sword. Once you do, bring the newly-acquired materials with you back to Arvantville. Speak with Johannes to craft new items and enhance any Shards. This includes the fresh Bloodbringer Familiar Shard, which summons forth the enemy to fight in your aid in battle.
Expert Tip
Of course, after getting the Bloodbringer Familiar Shard, players will have access to the Bloodbringer Sword. Both the sword and the shard cannot be equipped at the same time, however. To work around this issue, utilize your Shortcuts. Place the sword into one Shortcut, equip the Familiar through your equipment screen, then activate the Shortcut containing the Bloodbringer sword. This will allow you to essentially have two Bloodbringers on the field as opposed to one.
The sword can be enhanced by crafting with Sword Fragments, resulting in stronger stats. Sword Fragments are also used for enhancing the Heretical Grinder Directional Shard. In addition to the fragments, you’ll also need Damascus and Orichalcum to advance its levels from 1-9. Damascus is obtained by slaying the Axe Outsider, Lance Armor, Mimic, and Puppy enemies. Orichalcum is dropped by the G Axe Outsider and some blue chests within the Glacial Tomb area of the castle.
By acquiring the new Familiar, you’ll notice its evolution as you help to level it up through MP usage. It goes through a couple of changes before submitting itself to its true form at Level 75. Just be sure to have it equipped with your Shortcuts for easy access and action. Otherwise, you’re probably accustomed to constantly pausing the game to switch up your gear in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
