How to Craft Hermes Shoes in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night New Shard

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a recent release, boasting an extensive item customization and crafting system. Consequently, many players find themselves almost lost while figuring out which items are needed to craft the multitude of weapons present in the game. Today, we’re looking at the game’s pair of Hermes Shoes in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

While most likely to occur later in the game, players can build themselves some Hermes Shoes to grant Miriam Cut and Strike Resistance upon equipping the piece of armor. This requires a few steps, however. Obtaining these shiny shoes will take some time, so be ready for some extensive traveling through Gebel’s Castle.

How to Make Hermes Shoes

Players will need the Demon Claw, Dragon Shoes, and Rhava Bural materials to craft together the Hermes Shoes in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Each of these ingredients is rather difficult to acquire since farming and intensive preparation are at play here. We’ll go through each one before we can pay a visit to Johannes to help build the melee shoes in question.

The Hermes Shoes are a buff item featured in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. While they sadly don’t allow for the power of flight, like the Hermes of Greek myths, they do provide a significant attack bonus. They increase the attack stat by 38 and have the attributes of Slash and Strike. They are worn and used exclusively by the main character and protagonist Miriam.

Expert Tip

While the name of Hermes Shoes may be misleading (the description reads “shoes imbued with a wind spirit’s power”), there is a specific Shard in the game that allows Miriam to move around more quickly, at the slight cost of some MP. This is a Manipulative Shard known as Accelerator, and it’s only obtainable if you beat the Harrier NPC in a race that’s settled within the Den of Behemonths. Indeed, this happens later in the game, but it’s a worthwhile Shard to equip if you’re growing weary from walking around all the time.

How to Get Demon Claw, Dragon Shoes, and Rhava Bural

All of these lucrative bonuses make them quite appealing to the player going for a more aggressive play-style. However, crafting them can be quite complicated and puzzling. The Hermes Shoes require several item drops and weapons found throughout the game. Such an attack bonus has to come at some cost.

The first thing needed for the Hermes Shoes is a pair of Dragon Shoes. Dragon Shoes are also an item that can be crafted. Thankfully, they require only a handful of simpler items and item drops obtained from various sources and enemies. They require Wool (x2), Dragon Bones (x2), Dragon Scales (x2), and a Flame Ring. Its necessary recipe book comes from the words of Very Fine Equipment, which is located in the Dian Cécht Cathedral within a green chest.

After crafting and receiving the Dragon Shoes, there are the two other above-mentioned items needed to craft the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Hermes Shoes. These include a Demon Claw and a Rhava Búral. The former of these are dropped by a couple of demon enemies found throughout multiple levels.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Underground Item Drop

Hellbounds have a 4% chance of dropping a Demon Claw within the underground Inferno Cave area. The Rhava Búral is dropped by the Killer Barber enemies. They can be found in the Dian Cécht Cathedral. The drop rate for them is also set at 4%, though they are easier to deal with as opposed to the fiery Hellhounds. After obtaining the Dragon Shoes, Rhava Búral, and a Demon Claw, players should be able to craft the coveted Hermes Shoes with Johannes back in Arvantville.

Upon crafting the new piece of armor, you can then either equip or sell it in Arvantville for some extra change. It’s marked at 3,000G if you choose to sell it. However, if you’re ever interested in buying it from Dominique after you’ve successfully crafted it, you’ll be spending 30,000G. You might want to store this one away for now if you’re not looking forward to spending a huge amount of gold for a piece of armor.

In the meantime, be sure to cook new meals with Johannes whenever you head back to Arvantville. There’s a good chance that you’ve unlocked new recipes to help Miriam level up her stats (such as the delicious Exquisite Steak). Dominique will also have other materials for you to look through if you’re missing something from your inventory.
