Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been praised for its mix of JRPG and retro arcade fusion style of gameplay. As a three-dimensional 2D side-scroller, it also employs an intricate crafting and stats system with a multiplicity of recipes and weapons. Some of these are quite spectacular, such as the Exquisite Steak.
How do you make the Exquisite Steak, though? Well, it requires a certain recipe book that allows Miriam to cook up Supreme Dishes, with some notably providing stat improvements to bring out the best of our heroine. It’s located somewhere in the Hellhold castle, and luck for you, we just know where to go. It’s a little hidden, so allow us to show you the way to prepare a dish of Exquisite Steak.
Where to Find the Exquisite Steak Recipe
Players can craft the Exquisite Steak food after obtaining the Supreme Dish key item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The Supreme Dish recipe book is in the eastern Forbidden Underground Waterway area. It is in a breakable wall within the room just north of the area’s teleport room. Like a real cutlet, the full recipe only requires a few other materials for full preparation. Players will need to gather Black Pepper (x2), Butter (x1), Flying Beef (x1), and Halite (x1).
There are several interesting items and consumable recipes in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Gamers and gourmands alike can indulge their interests within the series, through the collection and use of several drops and ingredients. With so many options to choose from and so many possible crafting recipes, it can be difficult to decide what exactly to prepare.
Expert Tip
When it comes to breakable walls, it can be a little difficult to spot them if you don’t have the right tools. With this in mind, we recommend hunting down Seekers in the Forbidden Underground Waterway to get the Detective’s Eye. This resourceful Passive Shard allows Miriam to detect items that are hiding away behind breakable walls. You can also rely on an overpowered Welcome Company Conjure Shard that can continuously deal damage just by floating around you.
How to Cook Exquisite Steak
Players can’t afford to miss out on some of the in-game recipes, such as the Exquisite Steak, which is a craftable consumable item with an interesting perk. The first time it is crafted and consumed, it provides the protagonist, Miriam, with a +10 Strength (STR) bonus. However, it can be a bit tricky to find all the ingredients.
The Flying Beef is an item dropped by the Haagenti enemy, a flying cow found in the Oriental Sorcery Lab. It only has a 1% drop rate, so prepare for quite the repetitive slaughter. Haagenti can also drop other items by chance with slightly higher rates. They can drop the following items: Bovine Plums (8%), Petra Breath (5%), and Rennet (12%).
Halite, a form of salt, is sold by the NPC Dominique for 50G. Alternatively, Miriam can also obtain the material by unlocking a random blue chest within the Galleon Minerva area. This route is inarguably more time-consuming, so use your best judgment as you go over your finances in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
The spice, Black Pepper, can also be found in blue chests, but they’ll be in the Underground Sorcery Lab. Repetitive visits in rooms where the blue chests sit can provide a better chance of producing the ingredient. Just be mindful of the enemies that will always respawn upon returning to a room in the castle.
Lastly, Butter is also sold by Dominique, for 150G, or can be crafted with Milk and Halite. You can always check out Dominique’s stock to see what items she has on sale if you need more ingredients to gather and prepare.
After collecting all the Black Pepper, Butter, Flying Beef, and Halite ingredients, players will need to speak to Johannes back in Arvantville. Once in dialogue with him, choose the Prepare option. With all of those items in their inventory, players should be able to craft the Exquisite Steak.
