A key crafting item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is Soy Sauce, which is used to make Eastern cuisine for Miriam to consume. The only problem is, finding the flavorful cooking ingredient can be quite difficult and seems next to impossible! We know that it is an essential part of several recipes, so it has to be somewhere in the castle for us to find.
The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Soy Sauce item is used in a lot of different ingredients, so having it in your inventory is of top-notch importance. With so many different areas and enemies to come across, it’s only a matter of time until we can get some for Miriam. Thus, this guide will show you where to find Soy Sauce in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which most likely occurs later in the game.
How to Get Soy Sauce
Soy Sauce is only located in one location in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – the Oriental Sorcery Lab. You can find this lab on the top left portion of the map. Specifically speaking, you can find a corresponding blue chest that will contain the material in question here in the room right next to the Oriental Sorcery Lab fast travel room (pictured below with the Bloodbringer summon). There, you’ll encounter Gaaps, Gusions, Ninjas, and a Kamikaze, where other available items are up for the taking. The blue chest is sitting on the right side of the room, where Miriam must use her abilities to properly traverse the inverted area.
Expert Tip
Equip your best summon as you traverse through the room that contains the blue chest. Gusions and Ninjas are irritatingly troublesome to avoid since they like to bounce around for an attack. With your finest summon attached, knock out the foes one by one as you go from left to right of the room (the chest is on the upper floor of the room). If you need some extra muscle, consider enhancing your summons back in Arvantville with Johannes.
It’s not a location you are going to come upon quickly, so if it doesn’t sound familiar, then you’ll likely need to make more progress in the game before you can get there. Ideally, you’ll need a great majority of the abilities for Miriam to get through the entirety of the Hellhold.
As you have probably learned, finding Soy Sauce in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night seems to be as easy as finding the holy grail. Fortunately, while it is difficult, it is not impossible.
If you don’t find any of the liquid gold on your first run-through or you need more, then you’ll have to farm for Soy Sauce. To do this, simply run back and forth between rooms with blue chests and hope that you’ll get a stroke of luck when you open one.
If you have made it to the Oriental Sorcery Lab, then you’ll find the tasty sauce in the aforementioned blue chests. Unfortunately, finding Soy Sauce in a blue chest is not guaranteed. This means that you may open a blue chest and not find the desirable cooking ingredient. It’s a rinse-and-repeat sort of process, so you’ll need to have patience on your side if you’re looking to grab the material from a chest.
What to Craft with Soy Sauce
Now that you’ve obtained some Soy Sauce for Miriam in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, you can return to Arvantville to get some prep work done with Johannes. As we mentioned before, Soy Sauce is a vital material that is used to craft several items. In truth, they’re used for many meals of the Eastern cuisine variety that Miriam can consume for advancements in her stats. The following items require Soy Sauce, with each recipe only needing one piece of the sauce for preparation:
- Fish Hot Pot – with Aquatic Filet, Consomme, and Forneous Filet
- Ginger Pork – with Ginger, Moco Oil, and Plume Pork
- Meat Hot Pot – with Flying Beef, G-Bone Steak, and Plume Pork
- Simmered Forneus – with Forneus Filet and Sugar
- Soy Broth – with Fey Leaf, G-Bone Steak, and Ginger
- Sukiyaki – with G-Bone Steak (x4), Moco Leak (x4) and Sugar (x2)
- Uni Rice Bowl – with Rice (x3) and Sea Urchin (x2)
Of course, you can always pay a visit to Dominique to get some additional supplies to complete certain recipes. There’s a good chance that you might need to add other ingredients together before you head back to Arvantville. Be cognizant of which enemy drops what items in the castle as you continue to collect new materials in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
