How to Unlock Boomstick in Dying Light 2 | Blueprint

If you have been waiting to get your hands on this weapon then you have come to the right place. Today in this guide, we will show you how to get the Boomstick blueprint in Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2: How to get the Boomstick Blueprint

Dying Light 2 provides a wide range of weapons to choose from including melee and long-range ones. You can use these weapons to take on zombies as well as humans. However, it won’t be easy for you to find a gun even in this diverse open-world adventure. While the first game featured weapons such as assault rifles and shotguns, Dying Light 2 seems to toned these aspects down a bit.

The game’s developer Techland seems to have largely focused on Melee combat. So those players looking for a ranged combat experience will be mostly restricted to bows and arrows.

Unfortunately, there are no guns present in this survival horror open-world since the game takes place in a city called Villedor where firearms and guns have been outlawed. While the players are largely restricted to bows for a ranged option, the game does allow you to craft a self-made gun called the “Boomstick”.

The Boomstick is the only gun present in Dying Light 2 which can be obtained by players. It is a self-made shotgun that comes with only 2 ammunitions and deals upto 160 damage to any enemy present nearby. Due to its highly limited ammunition, it is not meant to be used as a primary weapon and is only useful for some quick killing blows. Thankfully, players can keep multiple boomsticks in their inventory with an option to upgrade them later.

How to Unlock Boomstick

In order to unlock the Boomstick, you need to visit the Craftmaster in the settlement and purchase the blueprint. Crafting the weapon requires 100 scraps which can be hard to come by. While the weapon is quite expensive, you should have a good amount of money by the time you get the chance to unlock it.

Keep in mind that you can only acquire the blueprint for the Boomstick after completing the quest A Place to Call Home. It won’t be visible in stores until you reach the second half of the game’s open world, Central Loop. So if you want to reach Central Loop, you will need to complete the Let’s Waltz quest in the game.

Location of Boomstick – Craftmaster

When you arrive at the Central Loop, you will need to talk to a Craftmaster at the Downtown Electrical Station or the Fish Eye Canteen. Both of these craft masters should have the blueprint for the Boomstick available which you can purchase using the Old World Money. You can find both of these locations marked on the map below.

If you want to find the Fisheye canteen, you can do it after you locate the Downtown Electrical Station in the game.

We strongly recommend you to check the inventory of the Craftmaster at the Electrical Station first before proceeding to Fisheye Canteen. If the Craftmaster has the Broomstick blueprint in stock then purchase it to use it as a throwaway firearm. Players can upgrade the Broomstick to increase its damage and the number of times it can be fired. When fully upgraded, it can deal upto 160 damage to the enemy.

Dying Light 2 is currently available for PC, Xbox and Playstation consoles with the Nintendo Switch version to be released later this year.
