Bugsnax | How to Catch A Fryder

Catch a Fryder

Getting a bit hungry for some snacks? Bugsnax has arrived on PlayStation, and it actually requires some experimentation. Catching a bug can be pretty tricky, and the game doesn’t hold your hand much! So, when Wambus Troubleham asks you to catch a Fryder, it can be a bit confusing. Thankfully, we’ve got your back if you’re lost when it comes to catching this snack!

How to Catch a Fryder in Bugsnax

In order to catch a Fryder, you’ll need to find the one closest to Wambus. You’ll find a Fryder climbing in a cave near Wambus. Simply go down the steps and look to the left and you should see it climbing on the ceiling of the cave, just begging to be nabbed! But, you’re going to need to play it safe if you don’t want to scare it off.

First, set a Snak Trap. Try to make it somewhat near the Fryder to avoid unnecessarily long adventures. Then, gather a ton of Ketchup! Fryders adore Ketchup, so you can use it to lure them fairly easily. We recommend getting 10 or so in case you miss a shot or two. Plus, you’ll need this ammunition for a bunch of bugs coming up, so it’s better to be prepared!

Then, shoot your ketchup close together to each other, making a line from the Fryder to the trap. Once the Fryder is in the white circle of the trap, activate it. You’ll have 15 seconds to collect your very first Fryder! Head back to Wambus to feed him the catch and get your next mission!

For the remaining Wumbus missions, you’ll need to caputre two Shishkabug’s and a Bunger. Luckily, these are both in the same but require different tactics. If you’re having trouble, here’s how to catch both Shishkabug’s and a Bunger!
