Jeff Ross took to Twitter today to announce the news, “I’m excited to announce I now work at the amazing Crystal Dynamics as Design Director. That’s all I can say other than I’m thrilled with the project, and especially the team of really wonderful people.” He went on to make note that Crystal Dynamics is also hiring, “Also–Come work with me!”

The hiring spree may be related to them taking on a bigger role in developing the upcoming Perfect Dark reboot alongside The Initiative.

Ross worked on the 2019 release, Days Gone, which stirred up plenty of controversies. The game was a PlayStation exclusive title released on PC in Spring 2021. PlayStation fans weren’t happy about sharing the game. In January of this year, Ross posted in a now-deleted tweet that “Local studio management always made us feel like it was a big disappointment,” even though the game sold over 8 million copies. Here’s hoping Crystal Dynamics does better.

Though we don’t know which game he will be working on, the tweet came out just one day after Crystal dynamics announced they were working on a new Tomb Raider game. Crystal Dynamics is the game developer behind many other popular Tomb Raider titles, and the recently announced version will be using Unreal Engine 5.

They are also developing a new Perfect Dark game alongside Xbox Game Studios. The game has an unknown release date, and it will be coming to Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S. Time will tell if Ross will be involved in either of these projects.

Ross also announced he “will become a Seattleite this summer,” meaning he will be joining the team at Crystal Northwest, the studio that created Marvel’s Avengers. Crystal Northwest is led by Chad Queen and James Loe, who came from Wargaming Seattle.

The well-known developer is currently looking to hire for multiple positions, with everything from Payroll Specialist to Art Director listed on their open call on Twitter. The company is hiring in the following categories: Art, Design, Brand, HR, Production, Animation, Engineering, Operations, Audio, and Finance.
