There are multiple troubleshooting methods that you can follow to fix this issue:

Click on the Verifies Integrity of Game Files in the Local files tab and wait for the process to complete. This will fix any issues that you caused to missing or corrupt files.

2. Run the game in compatibility mode

If you are using a newer version of Windows such as Windows 11 then chances are that there might be some issues or crashes due to the game being unoptimized for the newer version.

To fix this, try running CS: GO in compatibility mode by right-clicking on the desktop icon and selecting the Properties option. Head over to the compatibility tab and tick the “Run this program in compatibility mode for”.

Select an older version of Windows such as Windows 10 or Windows 7 and then click on Apply to save your changes.

In case you are facing crashes or issues then you can try setting a custom launch option for CS: GO to rectify the issue. Open Steam and right-click on CS:GO to select the Properties option.

Head into the General Tab and click on the Set Launch Options button. Enter the following in the prompt “cl_disablehtmlmotd 1-settingmem_level 0”.Press the OK button and then launch the game to check whether the issue is fixed or not.

4. Update the Graphics Drivers

If you are on an older version or using an outdated graphics driver then it often causes issues or bugs when playing games. It is always recommended to use the latest version of the Nvidia Geforce Driver or AMD Adrenalin Driver to fix any issues that you encounter.

Visit the respective website of Nvidia, AMD or Intel to get the latest GPU drivers for your computer.

5. Turn off any overlays

Programs running in the background can have their own overlays and processes which can interrupt or take higher priority than the game’s own processes.

This can cause issues such as crashes or stutters and closing these overlays can help you fix the issue. Make sure to turn off overlays for apps like Geforce Experience, Steam, Discord, Spotify etc to ensure that they don’t interfere with your game.

That’s it, hopefully, these methods will fix any crashes that you experience with CS: GO!
