Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course | How to Solve Gravestones Puzzle
While playing through the latest expansion of the game, you will come across the puzzle at the Graveyard. To reach this Graveyard, you will need to defeat some bosses or access a hidden path to get there in the middle of the island. A detective ghost will stand near this graveyard with nine tombstones indicating that you are the location of the puzzle.
In order to solve this puzzle, you will need to purchase the Broken Relic from the shop at the cost of one gold coin.
After purchasing it, equip this Broken Relic before you head over to the graveyard.
Now it’s time to solve the riddle and you will need the right order for the gravestones. Talk to all the 3 NPCs to see what they can tell you. There is no fixed solution for this puzzle and these directions are different for everyone. These NPCs will tell you stories about their adventures and the direction told by them will be completely random and different for every player.
During your interaction, they will drop hints about the directions such as Left+Down or UP+Right. You will need to pay attention and listen to their stories carefully to solve the puzzle
You will have to watch for these keywords during their dialogues such as “As a Winner, I never gave up! Left’em looking foolish!”, “I left downtown in a hurry, and forgot my gear, I’ll settle for second”,” Third Place? I guess things can only go up from here!”
By analyzing these dialogues, we can know about the directions: Up+Left/Left+Down and Up. Now it’s time to head to the graveyard and solve the puzzle. Do note that the position of the NPC standing on the podium is directly related to the tombstones that you will need to interact with.
Now it’s time to head to the graveyard and solve the puzzle. Equip the Broken Relic and interact with the tombstone that the first NPC mentioned to you.
In this case, we have to interact with the tombstone in the left row at the top since the directions were Up and Left.
The second tombstone should be the first one in the left row according to the hints given the by second NPC.
Finally, the last tombstone should be one at the top as the ghost in the third-place mentioned “things can only go up from here” so we will select the tombstone in the top found in the second row.
If you have successfully interacted with the correct tombstones by following the hints given by the NPCs then a happy ghost will appear from the middle tombstone will appear. You will be given an option to take a little nap where you can select Yes if you wish to start the secret boss fight.
