What’s great about the role-playing aspects in Destiny 2 is that not only can you customize your character with a variety of armor and weapons, but you can also personalize it to fit your play style with modifications. However, if you’ve been playing Destiny 2 for a while, you’ll know that getting new armor and mods for it can be an egregious and confusing process. That’s why in this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the Heavy Handed Mod.
How to Unlock the Heavy Handed Mod in Destiny 2
To get the Heavy Handed Mod in Destiny 2, you have to visit Ada-1 in the western part of the tower, near Annex. Ada-1 sells two new armor mods each day, which means, you’ll constantly have to visit her until you finally see the Heavy Handed Mod up for purchase. The mod, like any other armor mod, will cost you 10 Mod Components. You can get Mod Components by completing Gunsmith Bounties from Banshee-44.
Originally, you could get the Heavy Handed Mod from Banshee-44 as he was in charge of selling armor mods. However, that’s no longer the case. Since season 14 of Destiny 2, Season of the Splicer, all armor mods have been passed over to Ada-1. So, with luck, you’ll see the mod available for purchase from the merchant in a couple of visits. Also be sure you have those 10 Mod Components saved up, as you don’t want to come across it and not have the funds to purchase it.
The Heavy Handed Mod in Destiny 2 is an excellent armor mod for several reasons. When you land a melee ability while Charged with Light, you will regain 50% of your melee energy. The Heavy Handed Mod also has a secondary effect. That is Lock and Load, which adds reserve ammo to your weapon if you kill an enemy with a Fusion Rifle, Shotgun, Sidearm, or Sub-Machinegun.
