Destiny 2 is more like an MMO than a normal FPS game. You have the choice of what class you want to play complete with your own abilities. The only overlap between characters is the weapons you use. However, some players want to experience everything the game has to offer, including all the classes. So, knowing how to switch characters in the game is a must. But how does it work? Don’t worry, it’s not complicated.
How to Switch Characters in Destiny 2
If you’re looking to swap characters in Destiny 2, it’s very simple. It’s much like leaving your fire team. First, you’re going to want to open your inventory menu. Second, you’re going to want to navigate over to the settings tab. The icon resembles a gear, so it’s not hard to miss. Once you make it to the settings tab, you’re going to select Gameplay underneath sound on the left side of the screen.
If you look in the gameplay settings, at the bottom, underneath “Clan Invite Notifications” you’re going to see the Change character option, it’s located above logging out of Destiny 2. Clicking on change character in this menu will allow you to swap between characters you’ve already made, or make a new character if you haven’t made more than one.
Switching characters is easy once you know what you’re doing. However, if you haven’t made a new character yet, you’re going to be forced to restart progression with your new character. Why would someone do this? There are plenty of reasons. For one, people may want to try out a new class of character, perhaps they want to be a titan rather than a warlock. Or, maybe they want to restart with a fresh slate since they’re attempting to get their friend into the game. Being overpowered wouldn’t be fun for someone who’s never played Destiny 2 before.
There are plenty of reasons to switch characters in Destiny 2, and with how easy it is, some players have their slots filled.
