New expansions in Destiny 2 are always exciting. They bring a new story, missions, maps, gear, and, of course, weapons, as is the case with the game’s seventh expansion, Lightfall. The only problem with a new expansion is that it either vaults some goodies from previous expansions or makes them extremely difficult to obtain in general. That is precisely the case with the CALUS Mini-Tool in Destiny 2 following the Lightfall expansion. Nonetheless, read on for how to get it — just know it requires no shortage of luck.
How to Get CALUS Mini-Tool in Destiny 2: Lightfall
You have to rely solely on RNG to get the CALUS Mini-Tool in Destiny 2 after Lightfall. That’s because the Derelict Leviathan from Season of the Haunted was vaulted alongside Lightfall’s release. Prior to that, this boss was the only concrete way to obtain the weapon. As a result, there is no guaranteed way to farm the CALUS Mini-Tool in Lightfall, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. You’ll just need to pray to the RNG gods if you hope to get your hands on it.
Everyone’s favorite vendors, Xur and Banshee-44 do have the ability to sell weapons from prior expansions in Lightfall. As weapons from The Witch Queen and other expansions have been seen at their store. That means there is the possibility that the CALUS Mini-Tool could appear in one of the two vendor stores. However, that depends entirely on the world loot pools.
Overall, there is no surefire way to obtain the CALUS Mini-Tool in Destiny 2: Lightfall. Your best bet is to look through Xur’s weapon catalog, which is updated every Friday. Alternatively, see if it becomes available for purchase from Banshee-44. Aside from that, there’s always the chance Bungie will implement a way to obtain the weapon at a later point, but we wouldn’t put our money on it.
