Crops are some of the easiest money-making tools in Disney Dreamlight Valley. While it’s not the only way to get star coins, being able to water your crops and forget about it can lead to massive profits. But, some of these crops have incredibly long timers before you can harvest them. If you’re tired of staring at your asparagus, waiting for them to sprout, then you’re in luck! In this guide to the Disney Dreamlight Valley growth times of each crop, you’ll learn how long these things take in real time!
All Crop Growth Times in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Here’s the list of growth times for each crop in Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- Asparagus: 2.75 hours
- Bell Pepper: 15 minutes
- Canola: 35 minutes
- Carrot: 15 minutes
- Chili Pepper: 45 minutes
- Corn: 12 minutes
- Cotton: 25 minutes
- Cotton (Crafted into Fabric): 25 minutes
- Cucumber: 1.25 hours
- Eggplant: 3 hours
- Leek: 2 hours
- Lettuce: 3 minutes
- Okra: 2 hours
- Onion: 1.25 hours
- Potato: 35 minutes
- Pumpkin: 4 hours
- Rice: 50 minutes
- Soya: 1.5 hours
- Spinach: 1 hour
- Sugarcane: 7 minutes
- Tomato: 25 minutes
- Wheat: 1 minute
- Zucchini: 40 minutes
Crops grow in real-time in this game, so planting a batch of Pumpkins will have you on a clock. You will be staring at them for four real hours before they can be harvested.
Whenever you get a crop, we recommend planting them in the same environment that you found them. Planting them in the incorrect environment can lead to even longer waits for your harvest.
Plants don’t grow at all if you don’t water them, though. Make sure you’re budgeting your energy – or constantly using the house’s stamina refill – if you plan on planting a huge harvest! Thankfully, all plants take the same amount of energy to plant and water, and none take any energy to harvest. If you think you missed any crops with your watering can, you can simply check your map to find any red crop icons.
At the time of writing, there is a glitch where watering a crop doesn’t register. Be sure to save and restart your game if you are “missing” any of your crops.
If you plan on growing a gigantic farm, make sure you bring a buddy to help you water or harvest! This is a great way to farm friendship experience. The larger your farm, the more you’ll grow as friends with your buddy!
Which Crop is Best for Your Time?
Not all crops are created equal! Unfortunately, some of these are just not worth as much coins as others are. You can sell any of these for the same price at any Goofy’s Stall, and they are your best profit margin.
The only bad crop for sale price is Cotton. If you don’t make them into Fabric, you will be taking a pretty hefty profit hit. Even if you make them into Fabric, you won’t be making much money back! Save Cotton for crafting and quests only.
There are four crops that you can grow if you’re looking to make a pretty penny. Wheat technically has the best profit, but has an insanely fast growth time. Unless you plan on harvesting 60 times per hour, Wheat is likely not worth focusing on.
The three crops most worth harvesting are Potatoes (Forgotten Lands), Tomatoes (Dazzle Beach), and Canola (Forest of Valor). These all will provide more than 2 coins per minute when calculated for growth time. Carrots grow the fastest of these options, and Canola and Potatoes grow the slowest.
If you plan on harvesting one plant per day, Pumpkins are your best bet. Pumpkins take forever, but still provide a large profit for anyone looking to make bank. You can plant before you go do anything, then come back four hours later to get your big ol’ plants. Be careful; these seeds from the Forgotten Lands are also extremely expensive!
This means that the Forgotten Lands are a pretty good place to set up a massive profit farm, assuming you don’t want to harvest constantly throughout your day!
