Larian Studios, developers of Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition, announced during this year’s Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that a Divinity: Original Sin 2 iPad release is already in the works, and is said to be coming “soon.”
The upcoming Divinity: Original Sin 2 iPad reveal was made as part of a video for developers about Xcode12 and Metal Apps during the WWDC, where Apple showed the new version of the game. However, since this is still a work-in-progress, what was shown in the video in terms of menu features is not yet an accurate representation of the final features players can expect, as the game’s iPad edition is still subject to tweaks and changes before it comes out. Further, the full features for iPad port will be revealed to the public at a later date.
The iPad game is being developed in conjunction with Elverils, who have already worked on the macOS port of the Divinity 2: Original Sin. Further, some of the features they are including in the game are a new user interface, touchscreen controls, and controller support, which will allow players to have more available options when playing Divinity: Original Sin 2 on an iPad.
The game is currently available on macOS, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and features a cross-save progression feature with Steam. While players wait for the new Divinity: Original Sin 2 iPad release date they can, players can enjoy the largest Gift Bag DLC to date, which was released earlier this month, titled “The Four Relics of Rivellon”.
The Gift Bag DLC comes with new stories that feature fresh narration and voice recordings as part of the new questlines where players can battle against enemies and defeat bosses like the Undead Dragon. Further, players will be rewarded for their bravery in this DLC with four new magical armor sets when they complete their mission.
