Does Spellbreak Have Bots?

Spellbreak Bots

The newest contender on the battle royale field, Spellbreak, has been praised for bringing something fresh. The game’s launch week has been successful, but players are concerned; why are they winning their first game? This “first game win” is legendary in battle royales… but not in this game. So, is your introduction game in Spellbreak bots? Or, are players just really good?

Are There Bots in Spellbreak?

Yes, Spellbreak does seem to have bots. While Proletariat has not confirmed nor denied the presence of bots, there is almost no doubt at this point. Too many players have their suspicions for the games to be actual player vs. player.

This is not uncommon in battle royale games. In order to retain player retention, competitive games ease players into the controls with AI controlled players. That’s just because some players might have trouble adjusting their sensitivity and whatnot. PvE for a few games allows for players to try new builds and approaches to the title.

It seems that Spellbreak is a little different than some. Over time, as you approach Level 6, your bot games should get more and more players. Additionally, you’ll start dealing with more actual players after your first two games, so you might find a bit more resistance after a few matches.

In addition, you’ll probably find yourself matched with more human squads, if you play that mode. So it’s both a blessing and a curse… as long as your teammates don’t teleport to the other side of the map.

Spellbreak is a battle royale game on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and the Epic Games store. While the game is praised for it’s freshness, we found it a little bland, and almost unfinished. The game released on September 3, 2020, and will likely receive multiple updates in the near future. Hopefully, this will include slightly more transparency about whether or not there are bots in Spellbreak.
