If you’ve already encountered the Demolisher in Dying Light 2, then you know how powerful he can be. This massive force of degraded meat may swing slow, but he’s capable of ultimately taking you down. You most likely already ran into him during “The Lost Light” quest, where he’ll come barging in out of nowhere. Being forced to arm yourself to the teeth, wrestling with this monster can be quite the endeavor. Here’s how you can beat the Demolisher in Dying Light 2.
How to Beat Demolisher in Dying Light 2
To defeat the Demolisher, you have to rely on your timing and wits. Assuming due to his gigantic structure, he’s probably slower in the mindset than the other special infected. Try to think of him as a zombie Hulk. He’ll swing at you when you get too close, charge toward you if you’re too far, toss hefty rocks from a distance, and smash into the ground if he feels like it. Any of these strikes can greatly stumble you, giving the other infected a window to maul you.
Luckily for you, this beast can quickly tire himself out if he misses his attacks or runs into a wall from dodging. Here, you’ll need to dodge away, and maybe a couple of times, too. If you manage to dodge the initial charge, he can potentially snap toward your new direction, where you’ll have to dodge again. It’s best to trick him by going near a wall and letting him charge at you, only to dodge at the last second. From there, you’ll be able to cut him up a bit until you need to regain your distance from him.
It’s best to use any projectiles and ranged weapons against this wrecking ball. Opportunity weapons are always a blessing if you find them around you, but try to burn him to a crisp with a Molotov and any modified weapons with flame attachments. The Demolisher has incredible health, so it’s going to take a lot of endurance to take him down. Just make sure you are simultaneously taking care of the other common infected around you in order to get some proper one-on-time with the big guy.
