How to Get the Black Flame Spell in Elden Ring
The Black Flame Incantation is unlocked by either talking to Brother Corhyn or Miriel, the Pastor of Vows, after giving them the Godskin Prayerbook. The Godskin Prayerbook will give you both the Black Flame spell and the Black Flame Blade. If you’ve been playing the game for some time, you should be able to use this spell right away. It requires Faith 20 to utilize, and it only costs FP 18 to cast. It comes with a simple and a charged attack, with the latter being capable to explode on impact, potentially affecting multiple foes. Each enemy will receive continuous damage from the black flame effect for only a couple of seconds; it’s just a small amount, but you’ll notice a difference.
This particular Prayerbook is found at Stormveil Castle near the Liftside Chamber Site of Grace. All you need to do is exit south into the courtyard while evading the enemies in the area; stick to the right side. You’ll want to head down a stone stairway. This leads firstly to a room with four rats, and then another with a sealed wall of fog with an Imp Statue sitting to the left. Use a Stonesword Key to clear the fog then proceed within. Before you, there will be two treasure chests. The one on the left gives us the Godslayer’s Seal; the one on the right gifts us with the Godskin Prayerbook.
Finally, as aforementioned, visit either Brother Corhyn or Miriel to learn the Prayerbook. Preferably, take it to Miriel since Brother Corhyn tends to move around a bit.
