Magic can be ferocious in Elden Ring, especially when it’s being used for combative purposes. Various spells and incantations can give the Tarnished a supreme battle bonus when it comes time to tango with the enemies. With that in mind, we’ve assembled a quick guide on how to use the Bloodflame Blade incantation.
How to Use the Bloodflame Blade in Elden Ring
Your character can use the Bloodflame Blade incantation only with a Seal weapon with 12 Faith and 10 Arcane for your Attributes. From what we’ve used, the best and easiest way to obtain a seal is to get the Finger Seal from the Twin Maiden Husks trader at the Roundtable Hold for only 800 runes.
However, if you’re having trouble finding the incantation, look no further than the Rose Church within the Liurnia of the Lakes region. Among the marshes near the church will be the location of Teardrop Scarabs at the southwest of the lake. Defeat these creatures to eventually loot the Bloodflame Blade.
Now, with your selected seal and the Incantation in question, you can then rest at a Site of Grace to memorize the spell. The option to do so will be within the Site menu, where you can find any other spells you’d want to learn, such as Catch Flame and Magic Downpour. Go ahead and select the Bloodflame Blade.
Once you’re ready, equip the seal to your left hand with a weapon wielded on your right. To apply the Bloodflame to your blade, press L1 on PlayStation, LB for Xbox, or RMB with PC. This ultimately triggers the enchantment, and your weapon will now deal extra bloody damage. The enchantment’s effect works as a debuff upon enemies that causes extra blood loss. This is definitely a handy spell to have on you when it comes to facing some of the game’s bigger bosses who have significant health bars.
It’ll only take a second for your character to apply the Bloodflame Blade. Your character will simply wipe their hand across the weapon that will emit a string of red fire. It’s a cool animation, but be sure to give yourself a few steps in advance before approaching your enemy with the enchantment.
