Exploration is critical to the Elden Ring experience, especially when it comes to collecting armaments. That’s why the folks at FromSoftware left so many secrets for players to discover. But one weapon that is dearly desired is the Bolt of Gransax spear — one of the Legendary Armaments within the Lands Between. To see how you can get your hands on the Bolt of Gransax, we invite you to peruse this brief guide for your needs.
Where to Find the Bolt of Gransax in Elden Ring
The legendary Bolt of Gransax is found at the top of the giant spear within Leyndell, Royal Capital. It’s directly connected to Gransax, the dragon that once broke down the walls of the Royal Capital. For this, you’ll need to reach the literal tip of the spear in order to obtain the new weapon.
This all comes down to whether or not you’ve defeated Godfrey or have first entered Leyndell. In either case, the location for the bolt will be on the actual Gransax spear. If you’ve defeated Godfrey and gained access to the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace, you have ultimate access to the bolt. Spawn at the site and head west out to the area to gain access to the bridge with a lift. Take that, then descend the stairway down north along the walkway until you reach the site of the giant spear. Here, you can easily jump down from the ledge onto the spear to collect the weapon.
Gransax Location Option 2
There’s one other option. Alternatively, spawn at the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace within Leyndell. From this point, head southeast until you reach a stairway leading to a courtyard. Several persistent enemies will be here, but your goal is the gazebo found right beneath the humongous spear.
Jump onto the gazebo to proceed with the next step whilst evading the aggravated enemies in gold. On one of the small pillars looking southeast, jump onto the ledge with the spear plunged into the wall. Thus, jump toward the impaired wall with the spear to climb on top of it – the tip, that is. Finally, you can walk upwards with the handle of Gransax’s bolt to loot the weapon in question. Be cautious, though; if you didn’t deal with the enemies below, one might shoot you off from the spear with an arrow. Get in and get out.
This special Bolt of Gransax requires a Strength 20 and Dexterity 40 to properly use. It comes with the Ancient Lightning Spear skill, and it can be upgraded with Smithing Stones. Additionally, it comes packed with Light Damage that can stir trouble for your adversaries with an initial base of 63 Light Damage and Physical 98. Furthermore, you’ll need to spend FP 25 for the Ancient Lightning Spear skill to happen. All in all, it’s an incredibly powerful weapon that we highly recommend hunting down for.
