The parry maneuver in Elden Ring is an ability that many players rely on heavily. This comes in regards to the combat, for it is a musical form to become accustomed to. But once it’s been mastered, the results can be dangerously tasty. Elden Ring has actually included a Golden Parry skill that turns the violent tides toward your favor. There’s one annoying catch: You’ll need to slay a Teardrop Scarab that proves to be quite different from the rest of its brethren.
Where to Find the Golden Parry Ash of War in Elden Ring
Along the Capital Outskirts, outside Leyndell, will be a Teardrop Scarab resting on the stairs to the left. All you need to do is take it down to retrieve the Golden Parry Ash of War, but it’s effectively evasive. One strike or one bad step will cause the creature to immediately disappear. Use an overpowered weapon and skill to kill it from afar, ensuring a clean hit without having to try once more. It might take you a couple of times (it surely did for us), but the little fiend should be a piece of cake. We recommend avoiding any melee attacks since this particular scarab can vanish within a couple of seconds.
For further context, you can find this scarab just south of the Outer Wall Background Site of Grace. It’s also a bit northeast of the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site, both of which are outside Leyndell, the Royal Capital. You’ve probably traveled upon this path before; it’s the entryway into Leyndell that remains closed. It’s “protected” by noble enemies that can easily be slain with a strike or two. The main issue here is the scarab itself. It’s a matter of trial and error until you find the sweet spot to eventually end its cycle.
Once the scarab is taken care of, the Golden Parry will be in your possession. This bright skill can be attached to small and medium shields, and it only costs 4 FP. It’s also incredibly swift, making you a warrior to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
