When it comes down to wielding ultimate power in Elden Ring, Dragon Breath Incantations surely come to mind. You can use these spells to cheese bosses or maintain crowd control, and they come in many forms. With the magical force from the head of a dragon, these Incantations are great sources of sorcery. But aside from the usual ways of acquiring new spells, there’s only one way to use the Dragon Breath Incantations.
How to Use Dragon Breath Incantations in Elden Ring
Dragon Breath Incantations can be obtained through one of the two Dragon Communion altars. The Church of Dragon Communion is located in Limgrave, while the Cathedral of Dragon Communion is found in Caelid. Instead of Runes, you’ll need to spend Dragon Hearts at the altar in order to acquire Dragon Breath spells. As you might imagine, you’ll need to kill some dragons throughout the Lands Between if you wish to unlock these Incantations.
Keep in mind that these are technically Dragon Communion Incantations, though. Collectively amongst the Tarnished community, they’re also referred to as Dragon Breath Incantations. This is mainly a result of the titular dragon appearing right before your character.
There are multiple Dragon Communion Incantations in Elden Ring. They include Agheel’s Flame, Borealis’s Mist, Dragonclaw, Dragonfire, Dragonice, Dragonmaw, Ekzykes’s Decay, Glintstone Breath, Greyoll’s Roar, Magma Breath, Rotten Breath, Smarag’s Glintstone Breath, and Theodorix’s Magma. These attacks are different from the Dragon Cult Incantations, which is another realm that operates in red-tinged lightning magic.
Once you have Dragon Breath spells in your inventory, you can then equip your Sacred Seal to cast them. Dragon Incantations cost a hefty amount of FP to activate, so be sure to use them wisely. In addition to the Sacred Seal, you’ll also need to progressively level up your Faith and Arcane stats to stay up to par. Finally, these Incantations will take a second to wind up before properly casting, so time your executions carefully.
