These rocks are needed to bring your weapon all the way up to +9. Whether it’s your bow or your hammer, you’ll want to bring it up to par eventually! So, if you want to grind, we can help you.
Where to Find Smithing Stone 3 in Elden Ring
The Smithing Stone 3 upgrade is called the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [2]. This item is found in the Sealed Tunnel south of the lake next to the west gate to Leyndell Royal Capital. This tunnel has invisible walls, the first of which will lead you to the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [2]. Give this item to the Two Maiden Husks at the Round Table Hold to access Smithing Stone 3, Smithing Stone 4, and the Explosive Stone. Otherwise, these stones can be found all over the place, from Stormvile Castle to the Waypoint Ruins and everywhere in between.
If you want a consistent source, then it’s from the Two Maiden Husks. By giving them the Bell Bearing, you will unlock their items in the shop and they will drop naturally. They sell Smithing Stone [3] for 2400 runes, which is quite expensive. However, if you need to upgrade a weapon, it’ll be well worth it. Weapon upgrades are massive boosts in damage.
Otherwise, you will find them scattered all over the place. Ainsel River has by far the most common drops scattered across its shores and nearby areas. You can also find a few in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few places where you can find one or two. These include: Siofra River, Stormvile Castle, Laskyar Ruins, Nokron Eternal City, Night’s Sacred Ground, Raya Lucaria Academy, and Waypoint ruins.
