Elden Ring Talisman Pouch - How to Use

Out of all the equipment you can find in Elden Ring, the Talismans are some of the most convenient. This is mainly because you don’t have to manually activate their effects. Throughout the Lands Between, you’ll occasionally acquire these Talismans from bosses, treasure chests, or even merchants. However, new characters can only equip one Talisman at a time. To equip more, you’ll have to find a Talisman Pouch. The question is, once it’s in your inventory, how do you use it?

There is no way to use a Talisman Pouch in Elden Ring. Instead, they are used automatically. A new Talisman slot will be unlocked the moment a Pouch is added to your inventory.

From the start of the game, you’re only allowed to equip one Talisman. To equip more than that, you need to find additional Talisman Pouches. The maxed out number of slots is four, as aforementioned, yet you don’t necessarily need to collect them in any specific order. Evidently, there are three to find:

  • Defeat Margit, the Fell Omen, or Morgott, the Omen King: Probably one of the first retrievals of the Talisman Pouch, this slot is easily obtained by slaying either one of these bosses. Margit might have been the first boss for many to approach if they reach Stormveil Castle; Morgott is the real Margit, and he’s not an optional boss when you face him in Leyndell, Royal Capital. Therefore, getting rid of Margit is a solid route to go with for the case of the Talisman Pouch. That’s if you managed to skip over Margit, of course.
  • Defeat Godfrey, First Elden Lord: In reference to Godfey, the First Elden Lord, you need to eradicate the spectral golden shade version of him. He’ll also be in Leyndell, Royal Capital, same location as Morgott, the Omen King. He’s also not an optional boss to defeat, but you can summon some trustworthy spirits and fellow Tarnished for help. He’ll drop the pouch upon being slain.
  • Acquire 2 Great Runes then Speak with Finger Reader Enia, or Twin Maiden Husks’ Shop: This route might be the smoothest for a good majority of players. If you missed Enia, you can head over to the Twin Maiden Husks’ Shop instead at Roundtable Hold. With your two Great Runes, the Two Fingers will praise your actions; thus, they bestow the pouch onto you via Enia.

As previously stated, you don’t have to follow these notes in order. Any one of the pouches can be collected at an appropriate time for your Tarnished. It is important to note that if you have defeated Margit, you will receive one Great Rune to get you going on your journey.
