The range of quest lines in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is vast, and you can even become a vampire. Yes, blood-sucking vampirism is a key route to go down, letting you prowl the streets at night while preying on innocent villagers. It comes with its own set of quests in the Dawnguard DLC, too. If you’ve become a vampire but have since changed your mind, here’s how to cure your Skyrim vampirism.
How to Cure Vampirism in Skyrim
Curing vampirism in Skyrim is no easy feat, given the transition is meant to be irreversible. However, there are two ways to cure it, depending on how long you’ve been a vampire.
If you’ve been infected with the disease for less than three in-game days, it’s actually quite easy to cure. Assuming the infection is recent, all you have to do is take the Potion of Cure Disease, which will reverse the vampirism before it takes root. If you don’t have one of those potions, you can pray at any shrine across the map to cleanse vampirism from your system. Remember that this will only work in the first three days after being infected with Sanguinare Vampiris, so time is of the essence.
If this three-day period has passed, it’s a lot harder to cure your vampirism. However, worry not, as it’s still possible. You’ll need to go and speak to Falion, the mage who lives in Morthal. It’s a small settlement located not far from Hjaalmarch. It’s hard to miss Falion once you get there. Talk to him, and he’ll request a filled Black Soul Gem. Using that, he can cure your vampirism. This is also a part of the Rising at Dawn quest, so there is in-game help if you need it.
