Epic Games will be adding achievements to the Epic Games Store starting next week. The first achievements will be dedicated to a handful of games including Rocket League, Pillars of Eternity, Zombie Army 4, Alan wake remasters, Kena, Hades, and some other select titles.
The new achievements platform might start with a small handful of titles but will grow once Epic releases the tool to developers who can add the option at their own discretion.
There are currently four tiers being offered by Epic Games:
- Bronze = 5-45 XP
- Silver = 50-95 XP
- Gold = 100-200 XP
- Platinum = 250 XP
Users wishing to track their progress will find Epic Achievements on a new details page where progress can be viewed and shared.
To keep track of which games are offering achievements, each game will list the available options on the Epic Games store page for the title.
In announcing the new feature, Epic Games said in a post that uses for achievements may be around the corner. “Keep your eyes out for more updates you’ve been waiting for as we drop new social features and player rewards later this year,” the company said.
If you’re confused by the fact that some developers already offer achievements that started over a year ago, have no fear, those achievements will be ported over into the new system.
