Fix Icarus Connection Issues [Solved]

If you’ve been playing Icarus this last couple of weeks you might’ve come across some sort of connection issues. Whether it be login errors, or infinite loading times, or straight-up connection failures, you’re not alone. But are these issues actually server-related, or is it your own connection that’s causing them? Well, it can be both, let’s talk about it.

Icarus Connection Issues Fix

Most of the time, while unfortunate, these issues are server related. There were multiple instances of this, one being not that long ago- December 5th, 2021.

So, even though the game is fully released, players will still suffer some connection issues. However, as the tweet from above suggests, players can try other versions of the game in order to get in.

What you need to do before we get into the fixes though, is check whether this is a server-related issue, because the actual servers might be down. Because Icarus doesn’t have an official page where it shows server status, the only way to check them is by going to the official Icarus Twitter profile.

Other than that, it might actually be a connection issue from your side, which means, there are a couple of things you can try.

Method 1 – Flush DNS

This doesn’t come to a surprise for most. This is widely accepted as one of the best ways to try fix connection issues in games and Icarus is no exception.

To flush your DNS, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Hit Windows Key & R at the same time.
  2. In the new window, type in “cmd” without double quotes and hit Ctrl + Shift & Enter.
  3. Type in this command: “ipconfig /flushdns” and hit Enter.
  4. Then, type in: “ipconfig /registerdns” and hit Enter.
  5. After that one, type in: “ipconfig /release”.
  6. Then: “ipconfig /renew”.
  7. The last one is: “netsh winsock reset”.

After you’ve entered all those commands, it’s a good idea to restart your system.

Method 2 – Update Your System

If you are having connection issues, then your system can be out-of-date, especially your OS and your network adapter drivers. To update both, press the Windows key and type in: “Windows Update” and hit Enter.

When you’re there, press “Check for Updates” and update if necessary.

Method 3 – Switch To A Wired Connection

Wi-Fi connections are usually less stable and less effective than wired ones. It’s common practice to troubleshoot connection issues by switching to a wired connection or to Wi-Fi, usually the former is better.

If none of the above-mentioned fixes worked for you, the last resort is a reinstall. Also, please contact Icarus’ support team for further assistance.
