When trying to win a game of Fortnite, the environment can sometimes get in your way. From a stray rock blocking your line of sight to a body of water distancing you from an enemy, you have to adapt and overcome. One case is by knocking down Timber Pines, which you’ll frequently find across the battle royale island. If you want tips on how to do that in Fortnite, you’re in the right place!
How to Knock Down Timber Pines in Fortnite
The easiest way to knock down Timber Pines in Fortnite is with your pickaxe or any weapon. However, if you’re trying to complete the Week 4 challenge, you’ll need to use a Ripsaw Launcher to knock them down. As an added bonus, falling debris can cause damage to enemies!
Notably, you can only knock down Timber Pines in Fortnite with any weapon in the game. However, it’s a very effective process if you use the Ripsaw Launcher. This is a fairly new weapon added during the current season, which sprays out a flying saw to chop up anything in its path. Using your pickaxe or another gun will also pop the Timber Pines quest progression, but takes longer. As such, be sure to find a Ripsaw Launcher. There are only a few Ripsaw Launcher locations across the Fortnite map, so be sure to visit those to complete the challenge.
Once you’ve got your hands on a Ripsaw Launcher from one of those locations, or any general weapon, you simply need to fire at the tree. Timber Pines are notable due to their lighter shade of brown compared to other trees in Fortnite. There are a lot of them in the snowy north west region of the map.
If done correctly, they’ll tumble down and the log will land on the floor, rather than just crumbling into materials. Practice with it, and soon you can use Timber Pines as an environmental hazard for pursuing enemies. Just don’t accidentally hit yourself in the process!
