Ever since Fortnite added more options for movement, such as grappling and sliding, players are keener than ever to take the fight to you. They even took it a step further when they introduced the Slide Kick at the start of Chapter 3 Season 4. Although it’s rarely used in battle, you most likely need it for a quest, such as dislodging runaway boulders. The good news is that if you don’t know how to perform the move yet, it’s simple and we’ll show you exactly how to do it in this guide. So continue reading to learn how!
How to Slide Kick in Fortnite
To Slide Kick in Fortnite, you simply have to slide into an object or enemy. That’s because your kick will automatically activate when you slide into an object or enemy. So in that case, all you have to do is learn how to slide, which you probably already know how to do. But if you need a refresher, we have you covered just below.
To Slide and thusly, Slide Kick in Fortnite, you first need a running start, but a steep hill will also do. Then to slide, simply press and hold the crouch button, which is left CTRL on PC, or if you’re on a PlayStation or Xbox console, you press and hold the right analog stick. However, if this isn’t working on your keyboard or controller, it’s most likely because you have different controls, or crouch set to another command.
In this case, just open the Options Menu, head over to the controller icon, and find out which button is your crouch button. You can switch between the controller configuration presets, or simply bind it to any control. Then, when you press it you will perform a crouch, but if you hold it while running you’ll perform a slide. Then once again, when you slide into enemies, builds, or even runaway boulders, you will automatically perform a Slide Kick.
