Fortnite seems to be really interested in making things a bit easier for players this season. You can now try and maneuver around the battlefield, and keep up in damage with even the lowest weapons! When you get to upgrade weapons, you can improve even the worst loot drops into something that will completely decimate your competition. Because of that, it’s important to utilize these new tools and know when you will be able to easily do so.
How to Upgrade Weapons in Fortnite Season 6
To upgrade weapons in Fortnite Season 6, access your inventory and navigate to the crafting menu. From there, you can spend specific crafting materials to upgrade your weapons, which are scattered around the map. Alternately, you can use your basic building materials at weapon benches scattered around the map.
The most common material that you need to upgrade weapons are Mechanical Parts. These can be grabbed by mining the various cars and machines around the map with your pickaxe. Make sure to have an escape plan for when the car ignites and starts to explode!
Currently, these are the only real source of weapon upgrades. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see new upgrade materials get added to the game. For now, the only thing you need to do is whack cars until you get your rare materials.
On average, these upgrades are fairly powerful, and not too hard to collect. So, it does depend a little bit on your luck, but you only need 4-6 of the mechanical parts to upgrade your weapon.
Alternatively, you can increase the rarity of basic weapons at some upgrade benches. These are located in Weeping Woods, Retail Row, Dirty Docks (two here), at the top of Frenzy Farm, Craggy Cliffs, and Pleasant Park. By spending between 50-350 of each material (based on your current rarity level), you can upgrade weapons. And that could be the difference between life and death!
