Forza Horizon 5 launched with one of the most impressive collections of cars ever seen in a racing game. We’re talking over 500 vehicles to choose from, many of which are available to purchase right off the bat— provided you know how to make money fast of course. If you’re a true collector, however, you’ll want to focus primarily on unlocking the 100+ rare and iconic cars found in the game. This includes arguably the most iconic movie car of all time, the DeLorean DMC-12. Keep reading to find out how to get your hands on it.
How to Get the DeLorean in Forza Horizon 5
Unlocking the DeLorean simply involves completing challenges for the Summer Festival Playlist. The Festival Playlist is a returning feature, so you should already be familiar with it if you’re a Forza Horizon veteran. If you’re not, the Festival Playlist is basically a set of challenges that rotate periodically. Completing each challenge will award you with a certain number of points. Once you have enough points, you can spend them on unlocking rare cars.
Some cars, like the Mercedes-AMG ONE or the McLaren F1, require loads of points to unlock. Luckily, the DeLorean DMC-12 only needs 26. That’s a very small amount for such a legendary car. You could gather the 26 points in around 30 or 60 minutes if you set your mind to it. Simply take part in various race events, especially Seasonal Championships, and you’ll reach the required number of points in no time.
Just like the real thing, the DeLorean isn’t exactly a supercar. You’ll likely use it more for its aesthetics than its raw power or driving capabilities. Truth be told, both leave a lot to be desired. Having said that, you can take advantage of Forza Horizon 5’s robust upgrade system to turn the DeLorean into a force to be reckoned with on the race track. It just takes some time and money.
No Flux Capacitor Here
It’s worth pointing out that, unfortunately, the DeLorean found in Forza Horizon 5 is not the Back to the Future version. Being able to drive the DeLorean Time Machine would have been really cool, but the classic version isn’t too bad either. Just pop in some synthwave and pretend it’s the 1980s.
