God of War Ragnarok is right around the corner, so we have to get ready for some action! This PlayStation exclusive is the long-awaited sequel to God of War (2018), which was an absolute joy! But, we still have a lot of unanswered questions about Ragnarok, like will it have New Game Plus? This feature is almost a must-have for many action hack-and-slashes like Ragnarok, so we are waiting with bated breath! Here’s what we know about GoW Ragnarok‘s New Game+ features.
Does God of War Ragnarok Have New Game Plus?
It’s unclear whether or not God of War Ragnarok will feature a New Game Plus mode at release. That’s because the previous God of War did not include the feature at launch. However, the mode was added a few months after its initial release. We expect a similar story for the sequel. Even if Ragnarok doesn’t include New Game Plus at launch, it’s likely to be added in a future update.
The 2018 God of War took a while to implement New Game Plus. Rather than just giving it out right away, it took a handful of updates to get to that point.
Considering we haven’t heard much news about it on the sequel side of business, we expect this to be a very similar scenario. If Ragnarok does not release with New Game+, expect it to come out within a few months in a future update. This should let players have enough time to actually get finished with their first run, so it hopefully won’t interfere with long-term gameplay plans.
This is all speculation, however. Sony has not released any information about New Game Plus in Ragnarok. We will have to wait for the game to be even closer to its release date for any concrete news. Hopefully, we won’t have to find out by beating the game!
