Grounded - How to unlock the Grinder

The Grinder might be a big help to Grounded players, but do you know where to unlock it? Grounded is a first and third-person cooperative survival game developed by Xbox Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment. It started its early access on July 28th, 2020. The game still has many unfinished areas, and the Grinder can be found in one of them. If you want to know everything you must do to find it, unlock it, and use it, then we can help.

How to Unlock the Grinder in Grounded

In order to unlock the Grinder, you must first unlock Advanced Production Buildings. For that, you’ll need to get the Haze BURG.L Chip, which is found at the end of the Haze Lab. Once unlocked, you can craft the Grinder with a few specific ingredients. This is what the recipe demands:

  • Crow Feather Pieces x 2
  • Acorn Shells x 2
  • Flower Petals x 3
  • Bombardier Parts x 5

To visit the Haze Lab, players must enable the Public Test Servers. It is important to notice that it can also grant access to unfinished content, which means that there might be bugs and malfunctions of the content found in the Public Test Servers. The Haze Lab is one of those unfinished areas.

The Grinder falls under the Utility category. It is a station that processes resources and turns them into Slurries. You can insert certain items to make a slurry with the Grinder, like Mushroom Chunks and Toadstool Chunks. Once the special Slurries are made with the Grinder, they can be used to tame pets. Its function ends up being very similar to that of the Spinning Wheels. Keep in mind that the station won’t take more than four items at once, and it can only grind down one resource at a time.

Now you should be able to find the recipe and know what items you need in order to unlock the Grinder. For more on Grounded, make sure to check our other guides:
