In Grounded, there are loads of different items that players can collect to help them survive the backyard. One of these items is sap catcher, which will allow you to passively collect the gooey substance. Further, sap can be used to make all sorts of tools and items in the game that you’ll want to have handy while exploring. So how do you make a sap catcher in Grounded?
How to Get a Sap Catcher in Grounded
While it may sound fancy, a sap catcher in Grounded is nothing more than the top of an acorn. So to get one, all you need to do is collect an acorn top. To do this, you’ll simply need to hit an acorn with pebblet hammer and collect the cap. Further, you should be able to find plenty of acorns by the oak tree that you explore in the first set of missions.
When you have the sap catcher, you can place it on top of a root or tree branch and it will collect drops of sap over time. After you’ve placed it, simply go about your business and come back by to check on it the next day to see if you’ve collected any sap. As you probably know, it can normally be found on twigs and branches, so the more wood in the area, the better chances you have of collecting sap.
However, if you find that your sap catcher is coming up empty day after day, you’ll want to try moving it to a different location. It can be a bit tricky to find a good spot, but eventually, you should be able to create a nice little sap farm and won’t have to worry about hunting down the droplets. Additionally, we’d suggest setting the catcher up somewhere close to your home base that’s easy to find, or else you’ll forget where you put them.
As you get further and further into the game, you’re going to need more and more sap, as it can be used to craft all sorts of items. From armor and storage chests to a torch and rubber, sap is a pretty essential ingredient in the game and you’ll want to have plenty of it.
