If you’re playing GTA 5 Online but find one specific player to be especially troublesome, you can always call a mugger. This recruits an NPC who hunts down the player in question and ambushes them, attempting to steal money. It’s a great way to throw rival crime bosses off their stride, but isn’t totally easy to do. Here’s how to call a mugger to do your dirty work in GTA 5.
How to Call Mugger in GTA 5 Online
To call a mugger in GTA 5 Online, pull up your phone and call your trusty friend Lamar. Once you ring him, a menu comes up with a range of options to purchase. That includes hiring a mugger, who will charge $1,000 to hunt down a player of your choice. One thing to note is that you be level 50 or above to hire a mugger, so it isn’t accessible to all players.
Once you spend that money, Lamar will send out the NPC criminal to do your bidding. They will head out to find the player, attack them, and steal up to $10,000 in cash. There are several variables to how much they take, however. That includes whether the player has deposited cash, as well as their current level. As you may expect, the higher the level, the more cash you get.
However, the GTA 5 Online mugger isn’t invincible. The player being targeted can kill the mugger as they flee, reclaiming the stolen money as a result. Equally, doing so will net them an achievement called Full Refund. As such, you may inadvertently boost their achievement progress!
If the target is in passive mode, or is otherwise inaccessible by being in the air, then the mugger won’t be able to complete their task. In those cases, you’ll get your $1,000 back. You’ll have to try again later once the target returns to an accessible locations.
