In GTA Online, body language is a critical element of communication. You don’t have a lot of options to talk to the random people swarming around Los Santos. So, if you want to talk to others, you kind of need to master the emote system. It will also make for better pictures, if that tickles your fancy! However, the game isn’t going to make it easy on you. There’s not even an emote menu. If you want to do something as simple as a point of your finger, good luck figuring out which button you need. So, if you’re annoyed by the controls menu, we can help you out!
How to Point Your Finger in GTA 5 Online
If you want to point your finger in GTA 5 Online, you can press B on your keyboard or double-click your right analog stick on consoles. This will cause your character to point in whatever direction the camera is facing. This will also work for your third-person camera, readjusting your character model to point in the direction your camera is pointing. This serves no in-game function but can help people without microphones time certain things.
We don’t have many emotes to work with in GTA Online. Rockstar didn’t exactly flood the game with options. At the very least, with pointing, you can plan ahead of situations or direct attention to a point of weakness. Not exactly the most intensive communication method, but it’ll do!
However, this is only available in the Online version of GTA 5. You’ll have to work without emotes in the single-player game. Not that pointing at NPCs would do too much for you. Though, you could take some pictures that might be fun, in or out of context.
And that’s about it! GTA 5 and Online might have limited emotes, but it certainly has a ton of content. With so many contracts and even DLC for the game, Rockstar seems to be riding these games for all they’re worth. Here’s some more articles about the newest releases.
