Gunfire Reborn - How to Save Progress and Quit

When it comes to roguelike games like Gunfire Reborn, dying should be the last thing to transpire. Sure, you’ll respawn, but now you have to do the whole run all over again from the very beginning. Good grief. Thankfully, Gunfire Reborn allows you to save your progress whenever you’re to quit and head back to the Inn from all the FPS chaos. Here’s what you need to do to take a break and step away from the game.

Upon entering the next Act in the game, visit the save point before diving back into the action. They’ll be in the middle of the room after you defeat the previous Act’s boss. The end of Act 1 has a well, and Acts 2 and 3 provide you with a campfire. Activating the well or campsite will not only save your game, but also restore your health and revive any teammates who didn’t make it through the previous Act.

Whenever you move from stage to stage, the game won’t save your progression by autosaving. Being that Gunfire Reborn is a roguelike title, you have to stay on your toes and avoid death by any means. Of course, that’s always easier said than done.

Luckily for us, the Talent tree gives us plenty of permanent abilities to utilize in your runs. The more that you contribute toward your Talents, the better of a chance you’ll have of reaching the save points. Notably, spend your Soul Essence on the Expedition and Survival categories, which can cater to your overall health and near-death encounters.

At the end of each run, the game will inform you of your performance while calculating the total amount of collected Soul Essence. Make sure to not spend all of your Soul Essence when filling out the Talents from the tree. You’ll want to have some as a backup in case you’re gunned down by the enemy fire. Upon initial death, you have a chance of revival by giving up some of your Soul Essence. However, you won’t have a second chance of self-reviving yourself.
