It goes without saying that there are some fantastic beasts that roam the land in Hogwarts Legacy. From notable beast dens to flying dragons, flying across land and sea will bring the students wondrous views of the creatures in the Wizarding World. There are 13 unique beasts in the game, with a particular one that’s a little complex to locate. We’re referring to the fiery Phoenix, a rare bird that’s only been seen a handful of times via the Harry Potter tales. And it is indeed rare, for there only seems to be just one in the game. Question is, can we breed this Phoenix?
Can You Breed Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy?
Unfortunately, students will not be able to breed the Phoenix as they complete their fifth year at Hogwarts. Since there is only one Phoenix, no other can exist in the game — technically speaking. If there were more, then the door of possible Phoenix breeding would be open. For now, it remains closed, at least until a DLC comes around that might potentially change that.
The only instance where you encounter the bird in question will occur during the Phoenix Rising quest later in Hogwarts Legacy. It is Deek’s final character quest in the Room of Requirement, which we’ve previously covered in another guide. With this in mind, there’s no need to fly around to search for the individual beast den. In a way, the Phoenix will eventually come to you.
As with any beast in the game, you can acquire creature byproducts by tending to the rescued ones in the Vivarium. For our red-hot friend, they will shed Phoenix Feathers while they roam within the Vivarium. Pick these up to upgrade your traits to Tier 3 while using the Loom in the Room of Requirement.
That’s all you need to know about the possibility of breeding a Phoenix. While you won’t be able to locate more than one in Hogwarts Legacy, there are other beasts that you can interact with, such as the Threstals and Puffskeins.
