Hogwarts Legacy Eyeball Chest | How to Open

Hogwarts Legacy Eyeball Chest - How to Open

It’s difficult not to engage in some mischievous behavior in Hogwarts Legacy, regardless if you’re a good or evil Wizard or Witch. Hogwarts, with its sense of mystery and lists of secrets, begs for it. One secret many players often stumble upon and are eager to crack is the Eyeball Chest. As you may have noticed, these chests will lock if they see you coming their way. Furthermore, the game doesn’t explain how to open them. Luckily for you, we will. Here’s how to crack these chests wide open.

How to Open Eyeball Chests in Hogwarts Legacy

To open the Eyeball Chests scattered throughout Hogwarts Legacy, you need to use the Disillusionment spell. This spell temporarily turns you invisible, making you undetectable by eyesight. This makes it the ideal spell for sneaking around without being seen. Furthermore, it also works on Eyeball Chest, as they can’t see you coming and won’t lock when you go to search them. The one trick is to cast the Disillusionment spell a good distance away and out of sight of these chests. They’ll lock if you’re even slightly close or partially visible.

You unlock the Disillusionment spell in Hogwarts Legacy during the “Secrets of the Restricted Section” main story mission. During this quest, Sebastion teaches you the spell in order to sneak into the library. In fact, there’s an Eyeball Chest you’ll come across while invisible during the mission, so don’t miss it.

So, what do you get from Eyeball Chest? Every single Eyeball Chest rewards you with 500 Gold Galleons. You won’t get any other type of reward but sweet, sweet, gold, which is quite a hefty amount. That’s why we highly recommend progressing the main story and completing the “Secrets of the Restricted Section” mission so you can start farming Eyeball Chest with the Disillusionment Spell. That way, you have more Galleons to spend on stuff you want or need in Hogsmeade.
