The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is filled with different living beings, born from a storybook-like imagination. As might be expected in Hogwarts Legacy, many Beasts are strange amalgamations of real-world creatures. However, some beasts are just straight-up odd. The Puffskein brings your wildest fantasy of a squishy, hairy coconut to life, although watching them bounce around is quite a bit of fun. Let’s talk about where the little balls of fur lurk so we can rescue them.
Where to Find Puffskein Dens in Hogwarts Legacy
The most relevant Puffskein den is located in South Hogwarts, east of the Forbidden Forest Foo Flame. It is denoted with a small paw print. There are additional dens in Southern Clagmar Coast, Northern Feldcroft, eastern Poidsear Coast, and in the Forbidden Forest. Their fur is useful for gear crafting and modification, making them an easy way to farm for some basic upgrades once you can capture beasts.
Puffskeins are one of the more common creatures in Hogwarts. You can find one in Clagmar Coast, Northern Feldcroft, South Hogwarts, Poidsear Coast, and in the Forbidden Forest. These little creatures are completely harmless, so they’re a great way to try out the game’s capture system.
If you want to capture beasts, you’ll need to complete “The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom” after during the Beasts Class. This is because you’ll need to unlock the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement. The Nab-Sack can be finicky, and these little furballs won’t stand still. Learn its range now, before you meet the more aggressive beasts! Or even the rare ones, such as the Phoenix.
Once you’ve brought a Puffskein to the Vivarium, you can start farming its fur. To gather it, you’ll need to visit them occasionally, feed them, and pet them. Each Puffskein will produce 3 Fur per successful collection, with a 25 minute cooldown between each harvest. You can keep multiple of the same creature in the same Vivarium, but be careful! The Vivarium only has so many slots for animals in it. You can also purchase fur from Indira Wolff in Pitt-Upon-Ford, if you need some badly!
