For those who want to tackle their enemies more strategically or stealthily, you can also invest in Ninjutsu Skill Points. With these, you can learn to blind your enemies with poisonous powder, blast them with shrapnel, or lay traps for them to stumble into.

Luckily for us, both Onmyo and Ninjutsu Skill Points are also considerably easier to obtain than they were in the original Nioh game.

There are two easy ways to get Onmyo Skill Points in Nioh 2. To make it simple, we’ve detailed both of them in the list below.

  1. Use your Onmyo and/or Ninjutsu abilities in combat. Simple as that.
  2. Consume Mage’s Locks for free Onmyo Skill Points and Ninja’s Locks for Ninjutsu Skill Points.

Similarly, there are two main ways that you can earn Skill Points in Nioh 2:

  1. Consuming Mage’s or Ninja’s Locks
  2. Practice Makes Perfect

The first method for gaining more Skill Points in Nioh 2 is by consuming Mage’s or Ninja’s Locks. These are uncommon, single-use items sometimes hidden in your missions. Should you find one, all you need do is access it from your inventory and then, viola!, you have a free Onmyo or Ninjutsu Skill Point to spend as you see fit.

Considering how these items are fairly few and far between, however, it is still advisable to use your abilities and grow that way. Besides, you’re throwing around the wrath of supernatural spirits and/or high explosives and flaming shuriken. Why wouldn’t you want to go bananas with your powers?

With the second method, the more you use your Onmyo or Ninjutsu abilities, the more proficient you become with whichever you practice. The better a spellcaster you are, the more access you will have to stronger and more varied magics.

The more your ninja talents grow, the more devious and devastating techniques you will learn. Simply utilizing your abilities will boost your proficiency level in the corresponding tree. The more you practice your skills (preferably on some hapless enemies), the sooner you can toy with more potent abilities.

Now that you know how to get Onmyo Skill Points in Nioh 2, go out there and lay waste to your enemies with fire and curses! For more help, check out:
