Yesterday’s PlayStation Showcase revealed the news that Metal Gear Solid fans have been waiting for. Not only is Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater currently in production, but fans will also be able to get their hands on the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1. This collection will combine the first three games in the iconic series in one collection as they were initially released.
Both projects are set to release in the Autumn of 2023, with no solid release date announced. They will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. A message from developers regarding both releases was posted on social media after the showcase. It states that the Master Collection celebrates the 35th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid and allows players to experience them as they were originally released on the latest platforms. A press release from Konami regarding Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater states that “The remake will star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.” and purports to be a faithful remake of the original which was released for PlayStation 2 in 2004. As well as these two huge announcements, the Metal Gear Solid Twitter account also announced a tabletop game based on the series will be coming in 2024. Take a look at the announcement below.
